Day 1 – Why this Monday is different than any other…
Another Monday Morning Website Tip by Marcus Rangel
So I’m going a little off of my normal digital tip for this week because it’s officially DAY 1 for me.
I know just like every project I’m sure you’ve been part of in your life there is the initial excitement, then the “oh crap” moment of thinking how are we going to get through this, and then hopefully if you are like me and plow through it you get to the end and say, “wow, look how far we came.” Today marks my first day of being a self employed entrepreneur, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Although this is day 1 of going all in with IMC, the “oh crap” moment already happened. Here’s why..
You all most likely know that I’ve been getting up every morning at 5 a.m. to start my day off and the good news is, that isn’t changing. I’ve found that for me personally, there isn’t a more fresh time to start the day off right before the noise of the day starts. The key to most successful people I’ve listened to is they have a very strict routine for their spiritual life, work, and their workouts…. and most of them do that early in the morning.
My “oh crap” moment actually hit Anna and I when we officially hit our goals that we set of going all in with IMC and realizing their was going to be a change from what I have been doing for the last 13 years. So technically it wasn’t even a bad “oh crap” moment LOL!
What’s going to be the biggest change?
My availability honestly. Although I was able to do more than I could ever even expect from myself in the limited time I had in the mornings, there was only so much capacity and work I could do. This changes now and the speed that I was able to bring with the work at my full time job now comes to the clients that work with me and IMC. Speed equals trust, and speed along with quality is what you can count on me for.
Have you heard of the phrase “Ready, Fire, Aim?”
So many times I feel we get too caught up in perfecting every project, every decision, and ultimately paralyze our progress by overthinking everything. If you are ready to make projects and get them out the door quick while “aiming” to adapt based on the data we see then I’d love to talk through your next project to collaborate on.
P.S. I know I promised a follow up to the Sales Campaign from last week, don’t worry I’ve got that on my radar to have ready for next Monday!
About Marcus Rangel
I've been working with small businesses owners to craft not only beautiful custom websites, but clear, clever and concise messages to reach their prospects since 2005.
I officially hung up my "corporate cleats" to be an entrepreneur and small business owner in the summer of 2020. IMC, which started as a side hustle early in the mornings before the sun was even up in 2017, is what led me down this path as a business owner myself. I focus on helping other business owners continually stay in front of people & prospects with digital marketing, create websites that get leads with great engagement, and produce video content that are meant for the digital era we're in.
When I'm not creating, you can find me hanging out with my incredible family on our front lawn or on my OneWheel around the big city of Owasso, OK.
Does your website need help?
Not seeing your clients or prospects in person can really hinder your business especially in a time like this. But there is good news! You can easily put your smiling face on video just as easy as Kramer brightened the room on every episode of Seinfeld (yes I’ve been watching this lately and loving every minute of it)! Here’s 3 simple ways to do it right. #1. Be genuine and don’t sound like a robot. You may have to practice and fail 100 times but in order to come across like your normal self I would recommend just having bullet points in your head of what you want to cover. If your read a teleprompter people will know because you will perfect everything you are…Read More
In so many ways, what’s old has made a roar back in the way communication is happening right now with the ol’ situation we are in right now. People are calling people, there are actually people outside and going on trails (saw this yesterday it was amazing), and emails from CEO’s are through the roof – just check your inbox.Read More
Most businesses almost hide what they want people to do on their site. If you knew someone was on your site for 1 minute and 38 seconds would you have your site designed differently? (By the way, that is the averages I typically see when diving into google analytics). There is an art to making a quality design paired up with a call to action. Too cheesy and you might look cheap, too discreet and they’ll miss it. The key is making sure your call to action is at least visible on the top fold of your website on a desktop or a phone. You could also have an item of value be your secondary call to action of the top fold as well. Now…Read More
