We’re roughly in month 6 of a new land of opportunity and my question to you is how has your marketing changed in the last 6 months with this new opportunity we’re in?
Since I’m refreshed from being on vacation 🙂 I have several questions to think through. And yes, I did refer to the last 6 months as an opportunity because just because although things have changed a bit, it has required us to adapt and look at new ways of doing things which for me is a ton of fun!
How would you rate yourself in staying in front of people?
The key here is frequency and good content. Right now people are looking for answers to questions that you probably have and you can easily stay in front of people with either social, website, or email content. Speaking of email content….
How did you use your email list?
Your prospects are looking for interesting stuff to read in their inbox. Think of it this way, how many non-personal emails do you get in a week? What if you started sending something at least weekly that gave an update or showed you as a guide to the environment we’re in?
What video content did you roll out?
Why read when you can watch right? Ads online perform better with video and I bet if I made these emails into a video it would be a lot easier to scan through… but I get up too early to write these things to make a video!
What books did you read?
I have two book recommendations if you haven’t read lately, “Free to Focus” by Michael Hyatt, an amazing book on how to focus your time and attention on the right things in life as a business owner or a leader within a company and the new one I just got in the mail, “Traffic Secrets” by Russell Brunson that I’m pumped to read.
What changed on your website?
It’s a great time to at least stop and look at your website. If your marketing has changed at all, is it reflected on your website? If your marketing didn’t need to, have you posted any new content to your site?
P.S. I mentioned vacation and man how important that is to me and our family and don’t let Covid stop you from doing something – you need it! If you are looking for a spot I can never recommend highly enough Big Cedar Lodge which is just south of Branson. I got to hear Brad Parscale (another Shawnee heights grad #respect) at an event say the number one way to reach prospects is either through texting or with email drips. And he said that in 2019 as the campaign manager for President Trump. One of the best books you can read to shape your approach to how you market your business online is the book, “Building a StoryBrand” by Donald Miller. He is full of so much insight and wisdom on how this approach can transform your website that I wanted to share the top 3 reasons why this approach matters. #1 – It positions yourself as the guide, not the hero. The first thing you have to ask yourself is why would someone come back to your website right? It seems like 95% of websites are “static” and aren’t frequently updated.
