How Your Personal Brand is made + NextGen Cattle example

Have you noticed that some people are successful with whatever they do? I believe it’s because they know their personal brand is one of the most important things to their success and not because of selfish reasons, but because they have defined what they want to do, who they will work with, and how they will go about their business.
What I believe your personal brand boils down to is trust. We are either building trust or losing it as we work with people everyday. Or as I heard Steve Jobs put it, making deposits or withdrawals with every interaction.
One of the coolest examples I experienced this first hand was recently asking clients and guests of the big flint hills classic sale for NextGen Cattle. While I was interviewing these guests I was hearing almost the same statements about Nextgen as I would hear about the previous company, advisors excel that Derek use to be an owner of. “This is a great group of young guys who are having success faster than anyone else.” Or “Nextgen is the future of the business!”
That’s when the lightbulb went off for me. Derek’s personal brand has carried over to this new adventure and those same work ethic traits that he brought before to a different client base are the same ones that are leading to success in the next venture.
So no matter what you do, just know your personal brand is either increasing or decreasing everyday with every interaction. Now go make some great deposits this week!
P.S. As the holiday and Christmas season is already around us, what’s the personalized gift or video you are going to send to your clients? This was one thing that I knew I wanted to still be known for as I started IMC full time and we already have something pretty cool planned in the works for our clients.
