Landing Page Website Tip #1: Your Offer

When’s the last time you feel that because of an offer, you signed up for something? I did this recently when I drove by what seems the hundreds of new carwashes popping up. Their offer was, “Car wash today for $5” instead of their normal $10 rate. Then, when I got up there they said their monthly subscription for unlimited car washes was $5 a month for the next 3 months. I thought, wow, why wouldn’t I sign up for this offer and they had me ever since.

Do you know why I love landing page websites for testing offers? Because it gives your audience the chance to say 1 of 2 things, yes or no. Is the car wash company expecting for every person in the city to stop by and sign up for their offer, probably not. But, they are expecting a certain percentage to sign up for their offer based on what I imagine they ask in person. That’s also what you can expect to do with a landing page, you can reduce all the other “noise” from your website and see if an offer is working or not.

Here’s an example of a recent landing page I worked on

I worked recently with Tangerine Cookies to create a landing page offer to draw up more business for corporate clients. The offer we are testing now is, “Schedule a talk with Tara and I’ll send you a box of free cookies.” What business owner or marketing exec wouldn’t request that free box of cookies? That’s exactly what we are hoping 🙂

You’ll see on this landing page that there isn’t anything to do except say yes or no to this offer. That’s what makes it so good.

Remember, you could have the perfect video, testimonial, or even text that hits all the right points, it all comes down to how good of an offer you are presenting to the prospect.

Where should your call to action be on your website?

Most businesses almost hide what they want people to do on their site. If you knew someone was on your site for 1 minute and 38 seconds would you have your site designed differently?
