Small Business Website Must Haves

Another Monday Morning Website Tip by
Marcus Rangel
There are several key things every small business website must have to be successful.
I’m going to break down the top 5 must haves, to keep it short and simple!
A good logo for your small business
You have such a short amount of time to make a great first impression with your website, if you don’t have a good logo, you could immediately lose people as soon as they pull up your site. You should expect to pay at least $400 for a good logo.
A great headshot and great photos of you and your team
Photography sets your website apart. If you want to be seen as the pro in your area, don’t skimp on photos for your website. You should expect to pay at least $500 for a great photography session in your area.
Content that isn’t too long, and that makes people want to read
If you look at any website stat, or analytic, people aren’t staying on websites that long. Make sure your site is “scannable” and not very “wordy.”
A great call to action
You should be guiding your prospect to what you ultimately want them to do throughout your site. If you can get someone to give you their email address in exchange for something with your call to action, this is key! Even if you don’t get the sale but you get an email address, this should be a win in your book!
Testimonials tell your story and back your business up
Gathering testimonials for your website is huge in showing people that others trust you. Don’t ask for paragraphs from people that you’ve worked with, just ask for a sentence or two about why they liked working with you and then showcase that on your site.
Every small business website needs these top 5 things!

About Marcus Rangel
I've been working with small businesses owners to craft not only beautiful custom websites, but clear, clever and concise messages to reach their prospects since 2005.
I officially hung up my "corporate cleats" to be an entrepreneur and small business owner in the summer of 2020. IMC, which started as a side hustle early in the mornings before the sun was even up in 2017, is what led me down this path as a business owner myself. I focus on helping other business owners continually stay in front of people & prospects with digital marketing, create websites that get leads with great engagement, and produce video content that are meant for the digital era we're in.
When I'm not creating, you can find me hanging out with my incredible family on our front lawn or on my OneWheel around the big city of Topeka, KS.

Shoot me an email: marcus@innovativemediacreators.comHave you ever thought of a Google review this way? What if you were to drive by your business and the “star rating” was directly above your business on the street… would it be more important to you then? My guess is, yes. Here’s the good news, getting your clients to leave 5 star reviews on Google isn’t as hard as you probably think. Here’s several ways I’ve done recently for some of our clients…
Read MoreHave you ever pulled up your website and looked at your logo and asked yourself this question, does my logo look a little “tired.” Having a “tired” logo can actually cost you business because if you think of how people scan your website it’s from left to right (or on a phone top to bottom), and what’s at the top of every website? Your logo. So if your logo doesn’t appease the eye in those…

Their offer was, “Car wash today for $5” instead of their normal $10 rate. Then, when I got up there they said their monthly subscription for unlimited car washes was $5 a month for the next 3 months. I thought, wow, why…
