Message from You

There’s almost a guarantee that if someone looks at your homepage and you’ve peaked their interest, they are going to visit your about us page.

It tends to be the second most visited page by far on any website analytic I’ve tracked. You should write (in first person) a message from you to your prospects on this page.

Think about it, they are wanting to read about you and how you can help them. Why not write directly to them?

I’m not saying to abandon your bio, but clearly highlight this message from you in your website design and even include a signature line to make it stand out even more!

I recommend telling them why you love helping your industry or what they can expect from your team or your business, just don’t make it about you make it about how you can help them.

Here’s a few IMC examples to show you what I mean:

P.S. I know it’s been a very hit and miss weekly email that i said I would do that you are getting today. I’m bringing this back to website tips because that’s where any business online foundation starts… and where it needs to be continually improved.

With a new look to website tips and a refreshed writer (me lol), let’s just say I’m back (Like Jordan said after he tried baseball… except MJ should have never retired and hired Tom Brady’s trainer and maybe he’d still be playing haha!).

About Marcus Rangel

I've been working with small businesses owners to craft not only beautiful custom websites, but clear, clever and concise messages to reach their prospects since 2005.

I officially hung up my "corporate cleats" to be an entrepreneur and small business owner in the summer of 2020. IMC, which started as a side hustle early in the mornings before the sun was even up in 2017, is what led me down this path as a business owner myself. I focus on helping other business owners continually stay in front of people & prospects with digital marketing, create websites that get leads with great engagement, and produce video content that are meant for the digital era we're in.

When I'm not creating, you can find me hanging out with my incredible family on our front lawn or on my OneWheel around the big city of Owasso, OK.

Where should you spend money on online advertising?

Facebook Ads, Google Ads and SEO may be where your head initially goes at when you think of spending money on online advertising. And although I would still recommend Google ads, there are 2 other strategies that are pretty standard if you were to ask me where to make sure they should head with spending money online: Retargeting and Email Marketing. Here’s why: Retargeting – bring people back. Did you know that those little ads that follow you around the internet asking you to come back to purchase that item you didn’t follow through with yet can be utilized on your site? That’s right, you don’t have to be selling those fresh new Jordan’s to get those ads to start working for your company for…

How to write a good email subject line

I’ve been writing a lot about email marketing because it’s so essential right now, and because it keeps you in front of your audience. Your subject line will make or break your email campaign. Here’s wow to write a better one. It’s the headline to your email. It’s the reason someone should “open your letter,” yet so many people don’t follow these simple steps to make sure their emails get opened. To make this fun and entertaining, let’s act as if we were writing subject lines for the 2020 reboot of the show Seinfeld… this should happen anyways, right? Let me give you a few examples and see which one you are more likely to open: Example 1: NBC show scheduleExample 2: NBC fall update…

What data should you look at with email marketing? Here’s the top 3.

With most of the country stuck at home and not able to go out they are turning to their phones and computers more and more… just look at your own screen time report and I bet you see an uptick (you may be a bit shocked like Chris Pratt in Parks and Rec). Here’s the 3 key stats to look at with your email marketing. Your email frequency. This actually isn’t a stat that your system is probably going to generate but if you just look at the dates to see how often you are sending emails out you should at least aim for once a week right now. If you are driving people to a webinar or offer and it’s timely stuff, aim for…
