Where to Place a Message From the Owner on Your Website
Another Monday Morning Website Tip by Marcus Rangel
Your website’s most visited page is… you guessed it, your homepage!
That’s why I always recommend having a “message from the owner/founder” on the homepage. It immediately humanizes your brand for the website visitor and puts a face to your company. It also leads your website visitor to the about us page (most likely your second most visited page) if worded and done right.
What your message should contain:
- Your photo. This should be a professional yet approachable headshot – think a smiling welcoming photo. I do not recommend using AI for your photo because it could immediately give a “fake” feel, which is the exact opposite impression you want people to have of your site.
- A real message from you. It doesn’t have to be long, but it should sound like something you would say in an elevator pitch. Think two to three sentences max.
- Your Name and Title – Let your visitors know exactly who you are and your role in the company.
Here are three website examples that I’ve designed and launched recently in 2026 that feature a “Message from the owner” for you to check out!

About Marcus Rangel
I've been working with small businesses owners to craft not only beautiful custom websites, but clear, clever and concise messages to reach their prospects since 2005.
I officially hung up my "corporate cleats" to be an entrepreneur and small business owner in the summer of 2020. IMC, which started as a side hustle early in the mornings before the sun was even up in 2017, is what led me down this path as a small business owner myself. I focus on helping other small business owners continually stay in front of people & prospects with email marketing, create websites that generate leads with great engagement, and produce video content that are meant for the digital era we're in.
When I'm not creating, you can find me hanging out with my incredible family on our front lawn or on my OneWheel around the big city of Owasso, OK.

Amazing! When’s the last time you said that after working with someone? What made you say that or tell others about your experience? We recently had our patio worked on by the Gorilla Brothers, and oh my, it was amazing! They communicated—actually over-communicated—the entire time. Even when we were on vacation, we opened our email to find daily uploaded pictures showing the progress. Any change orders were approved by us before anything was added to our budget. Before signing the contract, did we know their process would make us feel like our patio project would receive the same attention as a big commercial project with a huge budget? Both Anna and I had an inclination this was the right builder, but we ultimately went with…
